Why Plans Fail. Letting Joy Guide You Instead.
Dear Friend,
Avoid being over-invested in a particular outcome in relation to your personal or work life because things generally never work out as expected!
It’s a law of life and the universe that plans tempt fate and so are meant to get broken. In yoga, it’s known as the ‘sankalpa vikalpa karo’ of Mahamaya shakti (Divine feminine).
In Sanskrit ‘Maya’ means ‘illusion’, referring to the illusory nature of our individual experience of the world. ‘Maha-Maya’ is this same illusion acting in the totality of human awareness.
The Self (Paramatma /universal ) hides itself from the self (Atma/you) in a game of hide-and-seek and Mahamaya is the blindfold.
The goal is your gradual enlightenment (Self-realisation / Buddha-nature) through the action of the kundalini, which slowly removes the blindfold.
Before this unfolding is complete, any outcome you want or aspire to through planning is necessarily based on partial information:
“Tis but a part we see, and not a whole” - Alexander Pope
And this is why plans can fail. So what can be done instead?
Use joy as your guide. The nature of your fully-blossomed Self that you are to become, is described as ‘Sat-Chit-Ananda’ . ‘Ananda’ means ‘bliss / joy’.
So when you navigate your way in life by what gives you joy (tangible as the vibes you feel when you meditate), then you’re more likely to be on the right path. More below.
Also below: tension relief from the face down; and, a meditation to lift your mood.
Best wishes
P.
