The Future of Money. Spending a Different Currency.
Dear Friend,
Gold is currently trading at £98.49 per gram and the price is likely to be driven higher by all the people who buy some gold at this time of Diwali; not as a store of monetary value, but because it symbolises having Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth, in your house.
Like Venus (Aphrodite) in Greek mythology, Lakshmi is said to have emerged out of the sea, which is where the first form of money, cowry shells, came from.
As we’ve moved away from ‘natural’ money in the form of cowry shells, through to man-made forms of money like gold (mining), coins and paper currency, to computer-made money or cryptocurrency, the original beneficent association of money with Lakshmi has been lost.
In the same week that one of the people attending the Chelsea weekly group meditation, showed me a cryptocurrency platform that they were developing for bankers at JP Morgan, Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange had $6.3bn of cryptocurrency stolen from it by hackers.
It’s well-known that cryptocurrency is fuelling a whole range of different crimes, such as human trafficking, ransomware and money laundering, which are adding to social ills.
Lakshmi represents the opposite of this, especially at Diwali, the festival of lights, when her enriching and beautifying influence is said to express itself wherever she is honoured.
Within you, in your Nabhi chakra, Lakshmi is expressed through your generosity. The more generous you are, the more your Lakshmi grows.
This is not necessarily about how generous you are with your money, but how generous you are with your vibrations, which definitely grows by giving.
And the ways to give or spend your vibes, which is real currency, are numerous. More below.
Also below: why invest in a little gold at Diwali ; and, growing your Lakshmi with a mantra meditation.
Best wishes
