Does God Exist? What The Numbers Say.
Dear Friend,
It may not always be apparent, but the purpose of life is the pure joy of existence (bindu-sarvanandamaya), according to yoga.
The source of that joy in you is represented by Ganesha, the eternal child, on your Mooladhara chakra.
Your Mooladhara chakra is located at the base of your spine and so acts as the foundation of your whole subtle body (sukshma sharira ). All other chakras are placed above it.
The word ‘Mooladhara’ itself means ‘root’ (moola) ‘support’ (dhara) and is a lotus of four petals.
The foundational nature of this chakra is mirrored in the function of Ganesha, who, materially, is represented by the carbon atom, which has four valencies.
Because of carbon’s relative abundance on earth, as well as its four valencies, carbon has the ability to easily combine with other elements to form molecules and compounds which are the basis for cellular life.
This is why the existence of life is described as carbon-based.
Now, here’s the thing: although there’s an abundance of carbon in the universe, the theoretical chances of it forming easily is close to zero.
The only way carbon could have formed in such abundance is if ‘a super-intellect had monkeyed with the physics’ necessary for it to form.
The quote is from the scientist and atheist, Sir Fred Hoyle (1915 - 2001), the English astronomer. He helped lay the foundations of the field of Nucleosynthesis, which explains how all the elements in the universe are created through nuclear reactions in stellar explosions.
Based on Hoyle’s other observations about how other aspects of the universe seemed to have been precisely and suspiciously fine-tuned, he famously compared the probability of life emerging by chance to “ a tornado sweeping through a junkyard and assembling a Boeing 747”.
You can draw your own conclusions about what the ‘super-intellect’ that Hoyle, the atheist, referred to, is.
The take-away though is that your Ganesha tattwa (essence) on your Mooladhara chakra is important. With your daily Kundalini meditation you do find your purpose and meaning. More below.
