Climate Change - 3 Things You Can Do Now.

Dear Friend,

No matter how dire the situation; there's always hope. The latest report from the IPCC ( Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change) appears to be very dire indeed, with the projection for when the increased global surface temperatures will hit the critical 1.5C,  being shortened from 2050 to 2040.

This, according to the science, will lead to more frequent occurrences of the droughts, heatwaves and flooding that we're already witnessing.

What can you do about it that will make a difference? Probably nothing. The train has already left the station. But..

But, rather than do nothing, why not, in your own way, be part of the global grassroots urge to hopefully make a difference? Here are three things you can begin to do today:While it's easy to see how eating less meat and downsizing can make a difference to your carbon-footprint and so help the fight against climate change, it's not clear how meditation will help. The line of logic is explained below.

Why You Should Eat Raw Honey Every Day!
Eating honey, especially as a sugar substitute, is good for  you. Eating raw honey is even better because it retains the health-giving ingredients that can be lost from processed honey - which is most of the honey that you'll find on your supermarket shelf. In Sahaja Yoga honey is recommended as a 'liver food', so is good for the swadisthana chakra the source of your creativity and ability to focus.
Confidence Boost When You Need It - Raising Your Vibes.
You're going for a job interview; you have a work meeting; you're doing a client presentation; you're meeting someone socially for the first time. These are all moments, when it's natural for anyone to feel a little anxious. But you don't have to be. That confidence boost you get from daily meditation can be tapped into when you need it. Here's a 1-minute way to raise your vibes anytime, any place...
Climate Change - Your Mother, The Earth.
The Earth is a living entity, according to the Gaia Hypothesis, and there's a human evolution link to climate change. The Earth is then like a Mother who nurtures her children's growth (evolution) to the point they are capable of looking after her. So could we really evolve our way out of the climate crisis with kundalini meditation? Here's what Shri Mataji had to say on the subject , way back in 1995...

Quote of the Week

"in Sahaja Yoga that [self-] realisation [partial enlightenment] takes place in complete effortlessness... which is called as 'prayatna shaytilya' - means 'relax your efforts'. Without doing anything you got your prayatna shaytilya, otherwise Kundalini would not have risen. Then the second stage is 'vichara shaithilya' - the thoughtless awareness. This also you got it without doing anything. And the third is complete negation of thought, 'abhava', and the bliss of peace. So one has to understand that you have to pass then, through three stages. First, when you get your realisation all these things come spontaneously, for that moment."

" I've noticed how work opportunities seem to just drop into my lap since I became serious about my sahaja yoga meditation. I've just been asked to lead a small project, but I'm nervous that I'll screw it up. Is there a meditation for that?  "

No, there's no special meditation for successful project management :o)

If you're nervous that your skill set doesn't match the role you're being asked to perform, then most organisations would be open to sending you on a relevant course to support you, if you requested it.

If you're nervous about your credibility with the people you'll have to work with, just level with them by being open about what strength you bring to the table and what you're going to need their help with. Disarm them.

Use your regular morning meditation to put some focus on your daily goals - as mentioned in last week's newsletter - so that your project benefits in some way from the power of your enlightened attention.
