Dealing With Risk - How To Anchor Yourself.

Dear Friend,

If you're more than a little anxious about everything going on in the world at the moment, then you're not alone.

Pandemic, War and then the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reminds us in their most recent report, how much faster than expected things are heating up.

Life seems particularly risky at the moment, but there's a way you can deal with it:

Anchor yourself at Sahasrara chakra. How? More below.

Also below: Getting yourself some 'shinrin-yoku' and the way to domestic bliss through the stomach.

Best wishes

A Walk In The Woods - Just What The Doctor Ordered.
A program in Canada that began in January, allows doctor's to prescribe a park pass rather than pills as an option for managing physical and mental wellbeing. The Japanese have long known about the benefits of a walk in the woods and call it 'shinrin-yoku' ('forest bathing'). If you live in the UK and want to get away from it all next weekend then check out the best places to go here...
Domestic Bliss (Left Nabhi Chakra) - A Guided Meditation.
If you're worried about bills and arguing with your partner, you could resolve things by giving a little care and attention to your left nabhi chakra in your stomach. Here's a short guided meditation to clear your left nabhi chakra and give it vibes with the help of a simple mantra. When used for a few days, you may begin to feel the blossoming out at your Sahasrara chakra.
Dealing With Risk - Anchoring Yourself At Sahasrara Chakra.
As a rock climber uses safety ropes to harness themselves to prevent a fall; you can resort to your Sahasrara chakra in the same way when dealing with the risks you feel anxious about. Anytime an anxious thought about anything - work, personal, worldly - slips in, pause for a moment and focus your attention at the top of your head (Sahasara). Surprisingly, this simple practice can change things for the better. Here's why...

" ...there is no language for love. No need to have any language for love. Only love has vibrations..."

"I'm upset about the state of the world and everything that's going on. My meditation helps me but what about the chaos all around?"

" Be the change you wish to see in the world" is an appropriate quote, which fits perfectly the self-transformative power of daily Sahaja yoga meditation.

Each of us carries within us, in microcosm, the world as we see and live it. As your kundalini, with every sitting in meditation, gradually heals and nourishes all your chakras, your projection on the world changes.

When this is repeated in many individuals  - hence the purpose of en masse kundalini awakening - a critical mass is reached and the whole picture changes. That is the hope.

Besides which, in the meantime, your enlightened meditative attention can have a real effect.

What To Aim For - The Ambition You Never Knew You Had.

What To Aim For - The Ambition You Never Knew You Had.

Dear Friend,

According to ancient Indian philosophy, you have 4 ambitions in life; 3 of which you may vaguely relate to and a 4th ambition you never knew you had.

The first 3 ambitions are : DharmaArtha and Kama, which - loosely translated - are, respectively: finding what you're uniquely good at and excelling at it; being able to pay off your mortgage; and, the fulfilment of your desires.

The 4th ambition is Moksha, which means 'liberation' , or, more appropriately, 'Jivan Mukti' which means 'liberated while living' or living in a state of Zen.

The path to Jivan Mukti is the path of the kundalini and the reason it's desirable is because the first 3 ambitions are automatically built into it. So, you get 3 for the price of 1.

The hint for speeding things up a bit on your path of ascent of kundalini is given below.

Also below: a new use for your family photo album; and an antidote to (over) work.

Best wishes

The Next Time You're Flicking Through The Family Photo Album, Check The Vibes.
It's easy enough to enjoy photos of your loved ones but what about their vibes? As you become better tuned into the vibes of people, places and things with your daily meditation, you can be alert to the health and wellbeing of your family members just on the vibes of a photo of them. Hold your palms open towards their photo , note the sensation on your hands and compare it to these charts....
The Antidote To Work - A Guided Meditation.
Your subtle body has 3 main channels: central channel through which your kundalini rises; right channel which caters for your mental and physical activity; and left channel which caters for your emotional life. When work dominates, your right channel may get run down leading to borrowing from your left channel and leaving you with very little energy for emotional engagement. Here's how to restore yourself...
The Path Of Your Ascent - The Need To Grow.
The path of ascent is like an upside down tree ( Tree of Life) with the branches spreading downwards and the roots in the brain (CNS), which are nourished by the kundalini with your daily meditation. It's an organic process. You can't force it but you do need to attend to it. Here's Shri Mataji explaining briefly, the need to grow.

" It [Sahaja Yoga] works in you in no time effortlessly, but after realization ...it is necessary to understand the complete working of the Kundalini and of the vibrations. You must know the complete science. Otherwise, what is the use of getting money which you do not know how to spend or use?"

"With mindfulness practice, being mindful in every activity is recommended as a way of keeping yourself in the present. How can I make use of Sahaja yoga in a similar way?"
In Reply:

In the morning meditate. When leaving the house, raise your kundalini.  On the commute, attention at sahasrara chakra. Meeting to attend; give it a bandhan. Lunch bought from Prets ( or anywhere else), vibrate it. Asked a difficult question; go thoughtless. Frazzled from a day at work; footsoak. At bedtime; meditate.

A honed attention from daily meditation and making use of the vibes will take you far.

Getting By Better By Feeling Better - Your States Of Awareness.

Getting By Better By Feeling Better - Your States Of Awareness.

Dear Friend,

Consciousness is finer, more subtle, than matter but in every direction matter seems to dominate; from how you feel bodily to the perceived limitation of your circumstances.

Matter is congealed consciousness ('Jada Shakti' - the thing that imprisons us can also set us free).

Your daily kundalini meditation is a journey to give back to your consciousness (state of awareness) the upper-hand over the limitations of circumstance.

And in that journey it's like a door opening wider and wider to let the light in. So that you feel better and better and everything seems to flow better.

The first two states of awareness are described below.

Also below: divinity in dance and clearing your void.

Best wishes

Yoga Through Dance -Bharatanatyam.
Bharatanatyam is one of India's oldest classical dance forms. It is made up of a combination of codified movements of the legs, arms, hands  and facial expression in a mime set to music, to tell a story usually depicting the gods and goddesses in the Hindu Pantheon. The best dancers seem to be able to transform themselves into the divinity they're portraying as in this case...
'Ocean Of Illusion' - Clearing Your Void.
The region surrounding your Nabhi Chakra (navel) is called the 'Void' or 'Bhavasagara' ('Ocean of illusion'). If the world and everything that is going on in it is represented by the void, then it's like an ocean in which everyone is floundering in as if drowning. When the void is enlightened through your daily meditation, then it becomes a strong boat with which to sail through life's ups and downs. Here's a meditation for your void...
States Of Awareness - Pillar Of Light.
The 'Pillar of Light' is your kundalini. When She rises, the first state of awareness She tries to establish within you is 'thoughtless' awareness. The second state She tries to establish is 'doubtless' awareness. When She does this then meditation is no longer something you do but a state you can be in at any time. Then when you're walking, talking, laughing, running you're connected . Here's how She does it...

Quote of the Week

" Truth is an experience of the central nervous system. For example if this is cold I can feel it, it is cold. Even if a child touches this, it can feel it, it is cold. If it is hot we can feel it on central nervous system, that it is hot. In the same way the truth is to be known on central nervous system, not through mental projections."

"Sometimes I may be sitting on the sofa watching TV or listening to music and suddenly I'll feel my kundalini come up. I thought that it only comes up when you're meditating?"
In Reply:

Chances are that what you were watching or listening to had some spiritual truth to it and your kundalini was responding to that.

Truth is beauty and beauty is truth, according to vedic philosophy. The most beautiful things are in Nature and when an artist, working in whatever medium - audio, visual etc. captures some of that, then their creation has vibes, which the kundalini dances to.

When I first got my kundalini awakening I always looked out of place at Indian classical dance and music concerts and Urdu poetry reading evenings. The cultural divide was bridged for me by my dancing kundalini.
