Mending The Past. The Bright Future Behind You. Dear Friend,
In 1942, the nineteen year old Nirmala Salve broke off her studies at the medical college in Lahore to join the 'Quit India' Movement, fighting for India's independence.
Her father, Prasad Rao Salve, a criminal barrister and descended from Royal dynasty and her mother, Cornelia Salve, a Sanskrit scholar and mathematician, had both already spent several periods in jail for belonging to the same Movement.
When Nirmala Salve was also jailed later in 1942, the ordeals she went through in jail were only revealed many years later: " They put me on the ice, gave me electric shocks; did all kinds of things." .
India achieved her independence in 1947 and Nirmala Salve became known as 'Shri Mataji' when she opened the Sahasrara chakra in May 1970, ushering in the possibility of collective human emancipation.
And a young girl's trauma in a jail in 1942 fades away with the bright sunlight of her subsequent momentous spiritual achievement.
Don't let any bad experiences you've had in your past hold you back. You have a bright future behind you. More below.
