Do It Now. Reasons to Act When You Have The Chance.


Dear Friend,

"Never put off until tomorrow, what you can do today", is the advice my grandma used to give me ( OK, maybe I read that somewhere).

No matter who said it, it is generally good advice which I haven't always been able to follow . I procrastinate as much as the next person.

But some procrastination is without any real consequences. For example, me deciding to postpone the shock of opening my energy bill until tomorrow shouldn't worry the sheep in the field.

However, other kinds of procrastination can be costly and have real consequences.

The reason for this is usually because there's a closing window of opportunity in which to act. Afterwards it's too late.

Take Climate Change.

Elizabeth Kolbert is an American author and journalist, whose book The Sixth Extinction:  An Unnatural History won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction.

In it she details how many, many species of flora and fauna (plants and animals) are vanishing in an invisible mass extinction event as a result of human-induced Climate Change.

Procrastination or  'Go-Slow'  governmental policy to address is will be too late because of the closing window of opportunity.

Are you in the habit of procrastinating in a way that may be a disadvantage to you? If so, then try doing today what you think can wait until tomorrow.

Paying attention to your Kundalini connection now rather than a 'tomorrow' that never comes will be worth your investment. More below.

In Reply:

Being 'left-sided' is the tendency towards lethargy. 'Right-sided' is being on over-drive and finding it difficult to relax.

So you can tell which you are by how closely one or the other of the descriptions fit you.

From a meditation point of view, your Kundalini rises easiest and fastest when you're balanced - neither 'left-sided' nor 'right-sided'.

To remedy 'right-sideness' do a regular footspa in cold salt water after work.

To remedy 'left-sidedness' use a candle with the meditation photo.

Dear Friend,

In 1942, the nineteen year old Nirmala Salve broke off her studies at the medical college in Lahore to join the 'Quit India' Movement, fighting for India's independence.

Her father, Prasad Rao Salve, a criminal barrister and descended from Royal dynasty and her mother, Cornelia Salve, a Sanskrit scholar and mathematician, had both already spent several periods in jail for belonging to the same Movement.

When Nirmala Salve was also jailed later in 1942, the ordeals she went through in jail were only revealed many years later" They put me on the ice, gave me electric shocks; did all kinds of things." .

India achieved her independence in 1947 and Nirmala Salve became known as 'Shri Mataji' when she opened the Sahasrara chakra in May 1970, ushering in the possibility of collective human emancipation. 

And a young girl's trauma in a jail in 1942 fades away with the bright sunlight of her subsequent momentous spiritual achievement.

Don't let any bad experiences you've had in your past hold you back. You have a bright future behind you. More below.

Well done for beginning to talk about it. That's the first step.

According to Government statistics (Year ending March 2019) 3.1 million people in England & Wales have had a similar experience. The number could be much higher as not everyone is willing to report on it.

Your next step is to pick up the phone and speak to an experienced listener and counsellor on the NAPAC Support Line . There's helpful information on the NAPAC website even if you don't wish to speak to anyone straight away.
