Feeling the vibes on your hands - kundalini '6th sense'

Dear All,
As with most things, if you want to get better at something then you practice. This is not only true about getting your 10 minutes of meditation in everyday, but also developing your ability to feel vibes - your 'sixth sense'. This week's suggested exercise helps you do exactly that.

Feeling vibes is an integral part of your meditation practice, because if you can tell the difference on your hands between when it's cool, warm or one or more of the fingers are tingling, then you'll automatically know which of your chakras or channels to clear to get a better meditation.

In addition, being able to feel vibes will help you to make better decisions in daily life, based on when something feels cool or when it's not.

Here's the exercise which takes 5 minutes.

You'll need the meditation photo , a photo of a friend or relative from your photo album and a newspaper photo of anyone in public life eg. a politician or popular entertainer.

What we're going to do is to see whether we can feel the difference on our hands when we hold the palms open to each of the three photos in turn.

First, raise your kundalini and put on a bandhan, as we do to begin a meditation.

Next, place the meditation photo down on the table in front of you, hold your palms open towards it, keeping your attention focused at the top of the head. Take a note of any sensations felt on the hands or within the body.

Now, remove the photo and replace it with the next photo and do the same thing. And then finally the third photo.

Did you feel the difference in vibes on each of the photos? You can try a few times.
(For the more advanced of you, if you felt catches on the photo from your album, see whether you can clear the catches by rubbing your affected fingers; then check the photo again to see if it has gone cool. You may have just cleared somebody's chakras from a distance!)

This weeks video clip (14 minutes) is : 'self-diagnosing using vibrational awareness'
See you at group meditation on Tuesday.

Feel Better, Sleep Better & Meditate Better with this 29p Detox.

Dear All,

Many of you may already be enjoying better meditation and better sleep from regularly doing the simple footspa detox, but if you haven't tried it yet, then here's how you can do a quick one in 10 minutes.

Half-fill an plastic washing up bowl with coolish to luke-warm water. Sprinkle into it a large handful of table salt . Place your feet in the bowl while sitting in front of meditation candle and photo, but keep the eyes open. Sit for 10 minutes, then rinse your feet off and dry them. Throw the bowl water down the toilet and use the bowl just for detoxing; which is best done in the evening. Sulu shows you how here.

A search on google shows the cost of an actual footspa to be anything from £15 to £130. But, you'll be enjoying the detox benefits of a footspa for just 29p - which is the cost of the salt you'll need to buy.

Now here's why the footspa is good for you.

As you become more aware of vibes through regular sahaja yoga meditation, you'll notice the difference between being in a place/space with positive vibes (such as Tuesday group meditation venue) and being in a place of not so positive vibes. Good vibes gives you a positive feeling and lifts your energy. Negative vibes could leave you feeling in a bad mood and drains your energy.

The vibes of a place or space is created by the people who occupy it - it could be a work environment or location. So if there is tension, anger, sadness, dissatisfaction or any other negative feeling or emotion hanging in the air, then sometimes you can't help sucking some of that in. Which is why you can leave the house feeling great but come home in the evening feeling not so great. You need to get rid of it.

This is what the sahaja yoga meditation version of the footspa detox does for you : it rids you of any negative vibes you may have picked up during the day, which affect the chakras.

Your meditation improves because the chakras are clearer, so the kundalini energy can flow better to the top of the head and take you more easily into the lovely state of mental silence/ thoughtless awareness. Also the footspa cools the liver down. A cool liver keeps the brain cool, so you're less likely to be still planning and thinking a lot when you go to bed. This can help you sleep better.

The ability to feel the vibes of a place or a person is one of the results of your kundalini awakening and can be developed. This is the beginnings of a higher human awareness that everybody may have in the future. In this short description of it, Shri Mataji calls it 'Super' awareness (superhuman awareness).

See you at group meditation on Tuesday.

Increasing your Zen - here's a 2 minute exercise you can do right now.

Dear All,

Following on from what was said last week about aiming for mental silence in our meditation and getting all the benefits of that, here's a simple 2 minute  exercise you can do any time and anywhere.

1. Close your eyes
2. Look upwards a little and focus attention on centre of top of head.
3. Can you feel any sensation at top of head?
4 Now open your eyes and look at something but don't think.
5. Try it a few times, looking at something different every time you open your eyes.

How well could you do the exercise without thinking?

Mental silence/ thoughtless awareness is like a muscle. It grows stronger, the more you work it. Being in a meditative state is possible with the eyes open or shut ie you can be meditative whatever you're doing. This is the Zen of  'being in the flow'. It helps you enjoy your day better, without stress and you'll be able to achieve more.

Further explanation below.

See you at group meditation on Tuesday.
Regards

Explanation:
In the photo above, that could be what you look like when you're meditating :o) . It would be hard to find a more perfect illustration of being 'in the moment' : the baby is unlikely to be replaying in their head that earlier incident with the teddy bear or wondering what's for lunch. Which is the mental wandering that may sometimes happen when trying to meditate.

The baby is poised in effortless mental silence. It is effortless because the baby is not yet speaking ; she doesn't yet have language and is in a state (whether eyes open or closed) called pratyaksha . This corresponds to the sensorimotor stage in childhood cognitive development*  - the putting toys in their mouth stage. There is no 'mental chatter' or inner verbalisation which requires language.
Turning off this mental chatter consciously could be like trying to get the toothpaste back in the tube. Howvever, the kundalini can stop the mental chatter without any effort required from yourself.

The state of pratyaksha or ' just seeing/witnessing' without any accompanying thoughts  is where we want to be, because this is when the fruits of your meditation practice, such as the feeling of being relaxed even when you're very busy, start to show up.
And this is the change in you that your work colleagues will probably notice first. Followed by the sparkle in the eyes and the shine on the face  as a result of the kundalini awakening.

Thanks for coming !

Hi there!
I hope you enjoyed your first session of meditation last night. Did you get the 'cool breeze' above your head ?

That cool sensation on top of the head is the genuine experience of
kundalini energy
 awakening
.
W
ith practise of paying attention to this sensation above
your
head
for  about 10 minutes daily,
you'll find
that even after a few days you'll become less stressed, more relaxed and generally feel more positive. It's all done for you by your own kundalini energy.
It is because sahaja yoga meditation is this simple, that it is currently being practised by hundreds of thousands of people all around the world, including America, Russia, China, Africa and the Middle East;  in their homes, schools and universities, and places of work, to transform their lives and become happier, healthier and more fulfilled.
This is the 'silent inner revolution' now taking place globally, which doesn't require you to sign-up to anything or pay for anything. This is what Shri Mataji (1923-2011) said is the next evolutionary step for mankind.
Shri Mataji, who had extraordinary insight into many things, also
predicted
that the en-masse awakening of the kundalini energy in as many people as possible around the globe
is the only way to avert the different existential risks the world is currently facing
: from environmental risks to other man-made risks.

You will be helping this great cause by investing just 10 minutes a day in yourself and letting th
is gentle and nourishing, motherly energy make you a more happier and healthier person
. 'In your advantage, lies the advantage of the whole world' Shri Mataji once said.

This email is to tell you about The Benefits , How it works, and How to practice at home .

The Benefits:
People who regularly practice sahaja yoga meditation report these benefits:
  • removes stress
  • improves health
  • improves confidence
  • increases creativity and problem-solving ability
  • improves relationship with others
  • improves sense of well-being (physical, emotional, economic, spiritual)
  • cures illness (see: sahaja yoga research )

How it works:

The
path to
our most happiest and healthiest self is contained within us in the form of a system of subtle energy centres and channels. The on-switch or trigger of this whole system is the dormant
'mother'
energy called the kundalini. When the kundalini is awakened and we are able to sit still for 5-10 minutes a day (the meditation) and let her work , she
removes
any
blocks
that there be on
 the energy centres
and the result is that we begin to
experience a slow positive inner and outer transformation
.

How to practice at home:
You'll need a framed copy of the photograph provided at the meeting and a candle. Why the photograph? If you hold your palms open towards the photo you may begin to feel a sensation of coolness flowing into the hands, which indicates
your
kundalini rising. So the photo helps the kundalini to rise by which you become mentally silent (ie. meditate).
The addition of a
candle has a cleansing effect, making it a better space to meditate in.
Later on we'll learn how candle-light can be used to remove what are called 'left-sided' problems which relate to our emotional conditionings.

Next sit down; raise the kundalini and put on a bandhan (2 minute video clip) as we did in the group meditation. Remain sitting with your attention at the top of your head
; eyes closed and palms open on the lap.
Soon
you
may
begin to feel the kundalini as a coolness on top of the head and in the hands. If you keep paying attention to the coolness at the top of the head(eyes closed) then your thinking will start to get less and you become mentally silent (relatively. It gets better with practice). After 5 or 10 minutes sitting, you can finish the meditation by going through the hand movements of raising the kundalini and putting on a bandhan

again.
If you didn't feel any coolness on head or hands and are not sure if your kundalini is awakened then watch this 6 minute clip of Shri Mataji taking an audience through the kundalini awakening (self-realisation) exercise . Hold your palms out to screen and follow Shri Mataji's instructions as if you were there. Surprisingly, people have got the kundalini awakened by just watching this video in a receptive mood. You can forward this to your friends and get them to try.

Set yourself a small goal
You can set yourself a target of say 4 weeks

to begin to
notice how much better you feel in everyway.
Everytime you sit for 10 minutes of meditation at home, you will feel the benefit
.  Attending the
weekly
group meditation
whenever you can make it, has a powerful effect
and brings all the benefits faster.

There's a lot to learn about sahaja yoga and it's possible for anyone to master it; it just depends on yourself. The knowledge is provided gradually  in weekly emails

so that we can focus on developing mental silence
/'thoughtless awareness'
at the weekly meetin
gs.
See you next Tuesday, bring your friends and if you have any questions in the meantime just reply to this email.
Oh, by the way, a copy of the subtle system
chart, showing you where your chakras are, is attached
. This will be referred to
from time to time
during the
group
meditation sessions.

Setting yourself up for a great 2016!

Dear All,
Welcome back, whether or not you made it to our first group meditation session of the new year last Tuesday. Sahaja yoga meditation is not static. Rather it grows and allows you to steadily develop and fulfill an unconscious urge most people have to achieve a certain freedom and a higher and better life.

At the beginning of a new year, this urge may express itself in the form of new year resolutions such as joining the gym, going on a diet or changing jobs. All these may entail some effort and are not guaranteed to succeed, which is probably why most new year resolutions are due to fall by the wayside some time towards the end of January.

On the contrary, with group meditation, if you manage to attend a Tuesday session (or a session at another venue on another day of the week) even once or twice in the coming weeks, then you can mark that down as a success because of the positive knock-on effects it usually has.

In the following weeks here are the three things we'd like to achieve by meditating together in a group, a group, by the way, consisting of all very nice individuals, great to have conversations with and network with over tea and biscuits :o).

Firstly, a sustained state of thoughtless awareness or complete mental silence, which will make it easier to achieve by yourself when you meditate at home. As mentioned in previous emails, this state is the key to sahaja yoga meditation from which all the extraordinary results follow and the basis of the positive life changes that start to occur.

Secondly, 'drinking the amrut/elixir' that begins to flow downwards into the subtle body, first the nabhi chakra in the stomach, when the kundalini energy opens out the sahasrara chakra at the top of the head. This is when the effects of your meditation begin to show on your face (the path to eternal youth :o) ) - click here for 7 minute explanation.

Thirdly, developing the 'sixth sense' of vibrational awareness by which you are able to feel the vibes on your hands and understand what it means. This is the basis of you becoming your own doctor - knowing which chakras are 'caught' (obstructed) and where there's an imbalance. The chakras control the endocrine gland system in the body, so if you are able to feel your chakras and give them vibrations you can prevent yourself becoming ill or curing yourself when you do become ill.

No matter how familiar you are with all the above from regular meditation, group as well as home meditation, this can be developed further. Buried in the knowledge of sahaja yoga is a whole integrated science that unites an understanding of yourself with everything around you.

See you at group meditation on Tuesday.
