Botox-Free. How Yoga Can Put a Shine on You.
Dear Friend,
Mother Nature does it best.
On the front page of an edition of the FT last week was a report that looked to me like paid-for product placement.
It was about Botox : “Botox boom shows no sign of sagging as inflation hits luxury sector”.
The report was essentially an advertisement for Galderma, a Swiss cosmetic surgery clinic, who are pushing their trademarked injectable, Sculptra, for removing facial wrinkles.
Increasing numbers of men are turning to Botox, according to lad’s bible, GQ, as the men’s grooming market hots up.
One of the reasons cited for wanting smoother skin is that it provides a confidence boost in an increasingly competitive jobs market.
But if we take a step back to remind ourselves what Botox is : getting injected with modified bacteria toxin to paralyse facial muscles, it does make you wonder if this isn’t too extreme.
Just being regular with your Sahaja yoga practice could be sufficient and far less invasive for enhancing your facial appearance, if that’s the way you want to go.
When vibes flow down through your Sahasrara chakra into your Nabhi chakra, a form of ‘subtle metabolism’* takes place. The vibes are broken down into the tanmatras (radiance/light emollience/ water etc.) which feed through into your appearance.
One of the enjoyments I get at the weekly group meditation, is seeing the gradual transformation in someone, facial and otherwise, as the effects of their daily kundalini meditation begin to show.
This is far deeper than the temporary, skin-level effect of a cosmetic intervention like Botox. More below.
Also below: the benefits of eating chickpeas; and, getting a feel for things on your fingertips.
Best wishes
P.
*This ‘subtle matabolism’ is the reflex mechanism by which it’s been predicted that human beings will no longer get sick or grow old as the Age of Aquarius (Kundalini) fully develops.
PS.
Moon Calendar (at end) this coming week: Tue. 26th May - Padmini Ekadashi (Gently conquering); Sun. 31st - Purnima / Full Moon ( Completeness).
