Making Better Decisions. The Power of Your Hamsa (Discriminative Awareness). Dear Friend,
You'd probably be surprised to know that you (and everybody else) make something like 35,000 decisions a day, according to this post in Psychology Today.
In a typical day, a lot of this deciding is about the small things. This could include deciding what you're going to wear, for example.
Occasionally, a small decision may end up being consequential. Such as deciding to take a left rather than a right and encountering an unexpected opportunity or a threat.
But, it's generally agreed, the really big decisions people have to make usually relate to 5 areas:- Relationships & Family
- Career & Education
- Finances & Housing
- Location & Lifestyle
- Health & Wellbeing
What may surprise you even more is how your sense of smell, or, more precisely your Hamsa chakra which looks after your olfactory bulb, helps you make better decisions.
Using the sense of smell to make a decision is well-developed in animals. If you have a pet dog, for example, then you already know that they can smell danger.
In human beings, this discriminative awareness which comes from the sense of smell is not so well developed. It can be trained in certain professions such as perfumiers and sommeliers.
Your discriminative awareness and therefore your ability to make better decisions, improves as your hamsa improves with your daily kundalini meditation. More below.
Also below: a simple Ayurvedic practice that improves your hamsa; and, a simple meditation to improve your focus and creativity.
Best wishesP.
