Katya Rubia is Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at King's College, London.
She has received awards and recognition for scientific excellence. Her scientific research papers have been in the top 1% of cited papers in her field.
She has collaborated with other neuroscientists to investigate and publish findings about the brain enhancement effects from the regular practice of Sahaja yoga meditation (SYM).
Two most recent papers relate to how SYM increases the volume of grey matter in your brain and how the functional connectivity in your brain is also enhanced.
Grey matter is responsible for memory, emotions and decision-making.
Functional connectivity determines how well your different brain regions communicate with each other. It's responsible for learning and creativity.
