Becoming The Change. How to Develop Yourself.

The things that look very difficult to accomplish, can turn out to be very easy if you know how.

This can apply to a lot of things. For example, take kundalini awakening.

When the knowledge about the kundalini was first revealed in the 13th-century by the Indian Marathi poet-yogi, Gyaneshwar, in chapter 6 of his  book Dnyaneshwari, it seemed a path of great difficulty, opened just to the determined few.

Some of the futile practices that developed around kundalini awakening would sometimes involve standing on your head for a long time.

Or involve, standing on one leg; or holding the breath; or sitting naked, covered only with a loin cloth in the freezing Himalayas for years.

Then it turns out in modern times that there is a 'sahaj' (innate, easy, spontaneous) way for the kundalini to awaken. There was never any need to force it by strange practices. 

Partly, this is a reflection of the need of the times we're living in and partly, a reflection of the extraordinary catalyst that Shri Mataji was.

The 'need of the times' could be a challenge you're personally experiencing in your life. Or it could be the state of the world as you see it at the moment.

The two are not unrelated.

You may feel powerless to influence the outer world. Its far easier to become the change from within. More below.

Can you absorb another person's negative energy?

When we all interact on a daily basis it's inevitable that some energy exchange takes place. Just think of public transport.

If you feel that you're absorbing someone's negative energy, just give yourself a bandhan to shield your aura before interacting - discreetly, of course.

It's generally a useful practice to raise your kundalini and give yourself a bandhan in any case before you leave the house.

Good Timing. How You're Helped By Chance (Serendipity).


Dear Friend,

Once, as a new traveller to India, I landed at Delhi airport in the small hours on a delayed flight from Heathrow.

The arrivals hall was virtually empty. There was no one to meet me. They had probably left, thinking I wasn't coming. 

I didn't have any phone contacts and the taxi drivers had gone to bed. Not that a taxi would have helped, because I didn't have the address to where I was going.

So there I was, stranded at an empty airport at about 1am.

I dragged my suitcase and went and sat on a seat out-side, thinking fondly of London.

There was  a lone street-kid playing on some railings, saying something. My hindi wasn't good so I ignored him.

He went quiet for a bit and then said something else. I nodded with a smile and fake understanding and turned away again. He left.

Shortly after he returned with a man who seemed to have been roused from his sleep. Forty-five minutes later I was safely at my destination.

Serendipity or 'Lucky Chance' had played her hand again.
