Dear Friend,

Maria Theresa, the 18th century ruler of the Habsburg empire for forty years, achieved a lot in her time.

Her achievements included:
  • Making sure that all children between six and twelve had a minimum level of literacy.
  • Improving public health by founding Vienna General Hospital.
  • Improving the economy by removing internal tariffs.
  • Beating back foreign invaders.
  • Abolishing torture and ending witch trials.
Nice, but what does this have to do with you, you ask.

Well, according to Shri Mataji in a talk to Austrians in 1984: "You had Maria Theresa, as a very great queen...there was a Rajalakshmi there".

'Raja Lakshmi', meaning the goddess that rules the kings, is a universal archetype and is the energy of your right nabhi chakra.

This means that you've got royalty in you. Let that sink in.

So don't sell yourself short or settle for low ambition. You could surprise yourself by what you could accomplish.

At the same time, it's good to remember that you don't actually do anything (get down, ego!)  Everything is achieved by the 'paramachaitanya' (the self-organising principle of nature) through your kundalini connection.

In this way, it's easier to be in flow and get more done with less effort. More below.

So much is happening in my life right now that it feels overwhelming. What can I do?
In Reply:

This is where an early morning meditation can help. If you normally wake up at, say, 6am, then set your alarm for 5:30am.

With that half-an-hour head start on your day, here's the way you begin to get on top of things and not feel so overwhelmed.

Sit up on the bed and firstly, raise your kundalini and put on a bandhan.

Hold your attention at Sahasrara chakra, at the top of your head for a few minutes, until you can feel your kundalini as the beginnings of a coolness.

Now, symbolically place your most pressing issue at the place where you feel the coolness on your head and continue holding your attention there.

There may be an initial tendency for your mind to start  thinking or worrying about the issue, but stay focused on top of your head.

At the same time, notice what your emotional response is to the issue, and look for the joy, which is located in your heart chakra.

Once you find the joy - which is felt , not thought about - then you should feel the increasing flow of vibes at the top of your head, which is indication of things working out.

Then do the same thing for the next issue that you're dealing with.

This is how you make use of the tremendous power of your kundalini to help you in so many different ways.
