How To Beat Negativity. On Becoming Untouchable.
Dear Friend,
According to yoga, everything that happens to you, can come in one of three different 'flavours'.
These 'flavours' are called 'Gunas' which are: Tamas (cold/ inertia), Rajas( heat) and Sattwa (balanced).
But like any flavour, it can only really be experienced once it hits your taste buds. Your tongue has been conditioned by what you've eaten in the past or what you generally like to eat.
In a similar way your primary faculty for engaging with the world, which is your attention or your 'chitta', acts like taste buds.
Your 'chitta' gets coloured continuously by your moment by moment experience of the day-to-day. The net effect is guna rule.
If someone says something to you at work, perhaps at your performance review meeting, it might have a tamasic effect on you and put you on a downer.
Or, it might be rajasic and cause annoyance. Or, it might give you an opportunity to express sympathy and so have a rajasic effect.
But guna rule means you're all the time subject to the ups and downs of life and this is where anxiety and depression come from.
Your daily kundalini meditation gives you boat to sail on rather than floundering around in the waves. It is 'chitta vriti nirodh', which means 'the stopping of the fluctuations of the mind'.
It also 'guna-ateet' which means going beyond the gunas. This makes you untouchable by any tendency to self-doubt and negative thinking. More below.

Best wishesP. PS. Moon Calendar (at end) this coming week: Thurs. 31st Jun - Saptami (Lucky chance); Fri. 1st Aug - Durgashtami (Universe is on your side); Sat. 2nd - Navami ( Vibes help). |
