How To Beat Negativity. On Becoming Untouchable.

Achieving Your Health, Wealth & Happiness By 10-Minutes Daily Thoughtless Awareness.

How To Beat Negativity. On Becoming Untouchable.

Dear Friend,

According to yoga, everything that happens to you, can come in one of three different 'flavours'.

These 'flavours' are called 'Gunas' which are: Tamas (cold/ inertia), Rajas( heat) and Sattwa (balanced)

But like any flavour, it can only really be experienced once it hits your taste buds. Your tongue has been conditioned by what you've eaten in the past or what you generally like to eat.

In a similar way your primary faculty for engaging with the world, which is your attention or your 'chitta', acts like taste buds.

Your 'chitta'  gets coloured continuously by your moment by moment experience of the day-to-day. The net effect is guna rule.

If someone says something to you at work, perhaps at your performance review meeting, it might have a tamasic effect on you and put you on a downer.

Or, it might be rajasic and cause annoyance. Or, it might give you an opportunity to express sympathy and so have a rajasic effect.

But guna rule means you're all the time subject to the ups and downs of life and this is where anxiety and depression come from.

Your daily kundalini meditation gives you boat to sail on rather than floundering around in the waves. It is 'chitta vriti nirodh', which means 'the stopping of the fluctuations of the mind'.

It also 'guna-ateet' which means going beyond the gunas. This makes you untouchable by any tendency to self-doubt and negative thinking. More below.

Also below: Chickpeas are good for you; Looked at differently, there's always a way.

Best wishes

Eating Chickpeas Could Be Good For Your Digestive & Brain Health.
In case you ever wondered, eating chickpeas is good for your mooladhara chakra. But that's not all. Chickpeas contain choline, which helps with brain function. It also contains magnesium, zinc and selenium, which helps lessen the risk of anxiety and depression. The high fiber content in chickpeas is also a plus for your digestive health. Here's what else it's good for...
Less Thinking and a Change in Perspective Can Shed Light on Things.
When you're all boxed in by worries, there's really only one thing to do: work on your liver and left heart. Cooling your liver, cools your head. Paying attention to your left heart, allows you to be guided by what gives you joy. Here's a short meditation for less thinking and a change in perspective...
Ethereal Mind - How To Beat Negativity.
Negativity can come from within in the form of self-doubt and negative thinking. It can also come from without. But negativity, whether from inside or outside, cannot enter in ether. This is the zone you're in when you're thoughtless. Here's how to cultivate your ethereal mind....

Quote of the Week

"So, the negativity cannot enter into ether. So, when you enter into your ethereal zone, you actually enter into the area which is thoughtless awareness. So, to achieve your ethereal state, you have to expand your thoughtless awareness."

I can't feel the cool breeze on my head when I meditate. Does that mean that there's something wrong?
In Reply:

There's nothing wrong. Sometimes things just take a little time to work out.

Massaging your forehead with some diluted sandalwood oil can help clear your agnya chakra and allow the kundalini to rise to Sahasrara.

Another way to clear the agnya is to gaze at the meditation photo for a few minutes before closing your eyes.

Putting a few drops of almond oil on the centre of your head and gently massaging it can also help to open the Sahasrara up.
