Investment Tip. Insider Information You Can't Use Just Yet.

Dear Friend,

About two weeks ago the FT published an article about the beginning of a race to the bottom of the sea to recover precious earth metals.

Precious earth metals are precious because there's a limited supply and they are used in everything from mobile phones to electric car batteries.

They are therefore important because they provide the means for the world to transition to a low-carbon future.

This will help us reduce the risks from climate change.

What's holding things up at the moment is a debate about the pros and cons of deep-sea mining for these precious metals.

The pros are that the stock of precious metals in the seabed is vastly greater than the limited stock on land, which have almost run out.

The cons are the potential detriment to the deep sea ecosystem and the expense involved in producing the equipment and technology to do the mining.

As well as this there's a UN mandated organisation called the ISA (International Seabed Authority) who grant licences to countries before they can mine.

This is to prevent a disorganised free-for-all 'gold-rush'.

Shri Mataji may have an indirect link to this.

The ISA  came into existence in 1994 through the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). UNCLOS works in cooperation with the UN International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

The leader of the IMO at that time was Secretary-General Emeritus Dr. C. P. Srivastava, KCMG.

Sir C.P, as he was called, was the husband of Shri Mataji and was greatly influenced by her.

I've asked ChatGPT, out of curiosity, what the investment opportunities are around deep-sea mining. It gives some interesting suggestions.

You should try asking as well. More below.

Also below: 2 books to take the worry out of your health; and, the joy of getting yourself together.

Best wishes

Being Better Informed About Unexplained Health Issues
 (Book Recommendations).

In Ayurvedic medicine there's a whole branch of knowledge dealing with women's health issues, called 'Stri Roga' or Yonivyapad. In western medicine, there has been a historic neglect of this area, with a resulting disparity in access to effective health care. Two recent books are starting to address this : Naga Munchetty - It's Probably Nothing and Jennifer Cox  - Women Are Angry. Both books are well worth a read together. Sahaja yoga's similarity to Ayurveda helps you.
Feeling More Together - Integrating Your Heart, Head & Attention.
Daily life can pull you in different directions at the same time leading to stress. That's why it's useful to make some time every day to put yourself back together again. You can start with this short meditation that integrates your heart, head and liver (attention).
Lakshmi - Wealth in the Sea.
Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and who is the deity of your Nabhi chakra, is said to have emerged from the sea at the time of the Samudra Manthana.  This is the episode in Indian mythology when the sea was being 'churned' (deep-sea mining) for the amrut, the nectar of immortality. Along with it came a whole bunch of other precious things called Ratnas. Here's Shri Mataji explaining this significance of the sea...

Quote of the Week

"Today I am going to tell you something about the sea, because we are next to the sea here, and must understand the feelings of a sea. Sea is your grandfather in a way, because he gave birth to Lakshmi (wealth & beauty), who becomes Mahalakshmi (evolutionary ascent) later on. So this sea which is the grandfather, we have to show all respect to..
And lots of wealth which is of…which is like gold, silver, diamonds, are all embedded in the sea. And one day may be that this Lakshmi might be discovered, and people will be enriched all over.."

Is it easier to achieve mental silence on a vegetarian diet? I overthink a lot and I'm wondering if it's partly to do with what I'm eating.
In Reply:

Yes, overthinking can come from what you eat due to the role played by your liver.

In yoga, overthinking comes from an imbalance of the right swadisthana chakra - specifically an overactive liver.

An overactive liver comes from an over-consumption of 'rajasic' (heating) foods such as caffeine from coffee, hot, spicy and fried food, and red meat.

So if you cut down on these foods you may begin to  notice how it makes you less busy in your head. Which obviously makes it easier to maintain a state of relative mental silence.

However, you don't need to become a vegetarian. It's more about achieving a balance. This can be done by learning to listen to your body and giving it what it needs.
