Snow White, You, & the 7 Dwarfs. Gaining Fulfilment through Jungian Psychology. Dear Friend,
Your collective unconscious ( ref: Jung) can guide you.
Last week the movie that most people in the US and UK were going to the cinema to watch was Snow White.
On the surface, the movie is about an orphaned princess banished to the forest and finding refuge with some little people - 7 of them.
How she then eats a poisoned apple and falls asleep. And is then brought back to life by a kiss. Then returns to her kingdom (with the kisser) and regains it from the Queen, her wicked step-mother.
But childhood fairy tales like Snow White are said to be windows into the collective unconscious according to Jungian psychologist, Marie-Luise von Franz, in her book The Interpretation of Fairy Tales.
So taking permission from Marie-Luise, here's an interpretation of Snow White in a way that's most relevant to you.
Sleeping Snow White is represented by the dormant kundalini. Until kundalini is awakened the awareness (kingdom) is ruled by the ego ( Step-mother, Queen causing misery and strife).
When kundalini is awakened, she rises, pausing at 7 chakras in an under-developed state ( 7 dwarfs) on her journey to regain her kingdom at Sahasrara.
When her kingdom is regained, enlightened awareness rules. She showers peace, happiness and wellbeing on her subjects.
If you needed another reason to practice your daily kundalini meditation, then that is it. More below.
