Clearing Your Debts. Narasimha - Your Nabhi Chakra Back Story. Dear Friend,
If you carry debt in the form of credit card bills, mortgage, car or business loans etc. nobody needs to know about it, if you decide to use the methods of yoga to try and clear them.
There's this well-known 'sloka' (Sanskrit verse) resorted to by the devout in India when looking for divine debt-relief:
"Shri Narasimha, maha viryam, namaami, runa muktaye" (meaning: Terrific Man-lion free me from my debts)
In the Puranas (ancient stories of India), Narasimha is the man-lion incarnation of Vishnu, whose energy is Lakshmi (goddess of wealth & beauty).
It is from this Lakshmi-Narasimha icon emerging from the human collective unconscious that may have led to the western fairy-tale of Beauty & The Beast.
Vishnu (on Nabhi chakra) takes the form Narasimha to vanquish a wicked king called Hiranya-Kashipu who had acquired invincibility through magic.
This invincibility consisted in not being able to be killed in day time or at night; inside or outside a building; by any man or animal; on the ground or in the air, or by any weapons.
With all this, Hiranya-Kashipu was sure he had covered all the bases. There was no way he could be defeated.
It was on this arrogance that his wickedness rested.
That is until Narasimha was summoned forth by the prayer of one of the tormented.
So Narasimha, the man-lion was neither fully man or fully animal. He came at twilight - neither day or night.
He caught hold of Hiranya-Kashipu on the threshold (neither inside or outside a building) laid him across his lap (neither on the ground or in the air) and pierced him with his lion's claws (no weapon).
If your debts sometimes seem 'invincible' like Hiranya-Kashipu, then you'll understand the logic of why Narasimha is invoked. More below.
